The success of a construction project is dependent on effective and realistic planning and most importantly, strong management and relationships. Before dreams can be conceived, all parties must together consider planning permission, local building authority regulations, environmental impact, scheduling, budgeting, site safety, availability and transportation of building materials, logistics, inconvenience to the public, and waste.
The vast majority of our projects are residential, including extensions and renovations, all varying in size with unique risk profiles. For this reason, our approach is to evaluate and mitigate risk where possible and ensure all parties are protected contractually. We produce detailed schedule of works, procurement forecasts and contingency plans to ensure a successful outcome.
Materials readily available in the local vicinity generally dictate the construction materials used (e.g. type of stone etc.). We do however, regularly import specialist materials and equipment from Europe in order to assure quality, whether it be waterproofing systems, modern plastering beads or shuttering and when necessary skilled tradespeople. Cost of construction on a per square meter (or per square foot) basis for houses can vary dramatically based on site conditions, economies of scale and the availability of labour.
In the past, developers, architects, engineers, project managers, interior designers, landscapers, and general contractors were separate companies. We consider ourselves a "construction management" firm with experts in all fields as employees or associate partners, providing our clients a "one-stop shop" for all their project needs, from beginning to end.
